The second Executive Committee meeting of DRWGI was held at Hitec
City, Hyderabad on 8th December 2006, during NDE2006. The meeting
started at 17.00 Hrs, chaired by Sri. P Kalyanasunderam, Vice-Chairman,
in the absence of Chairman, Sri. B C Bhaumik. Sri. P Kalyanasunderam
gave introductory remarks and was followed by self introduction of
all the members. Dr.V.R.Ravindran, Secretary briefed the activities
and presented the minutes of the previous meeting.
Sri. Siva Rao, Convener, Pre-Conference tutorial, informed that 50
delegates attended the one day Tutorial on Digital Radiography and
8 Lectures were delivered by experts from India and abroad. EC
thanked the NDE-2006 Organising Committee for conducting the
Pre-conference Tutorial on Digital Radiography and Including
Digital Radiography in one of the Technical Sessions of the Seminar
and also for providing facilities for conducting the EC meeting of
DRWGI in the Seminar venue itself as per the decisions of the
previous formation meeting.
The major decisions taken based on the discussions followed are the following
-
Regarding the preparation of the comprehensive article on DR,
requested members to provide suitable information. Sri V Manoharan and
Sri. Sakaranarayanan agreed to provide technical information on
DR technology. The material will be consolidated by Secretary and
will be circulated among all members.

On finalization of this article action will be taken to publish
it in the proposed Special Issue of NDE Journal on Digital
Radiography. (Action Dr. Bhattacharya & Dr. Ravindran)

Mumbai Chapter has agreed to organize a One day Workshop on
Digital Radiography during May - June 2007 at Mumbai.

It is suggested that the medical professionals in the field
of imaging may be brought under the membership of DRWGI.

The feasibility of conducting a 3 day Awareness Course at IIT Kanpur
in 2007 has to be explored. (Action: Prof. Prabhat Munshi,
B K Shah, Dr. VR Ravindran)

It is decided that the activities on Preparation of Training material
for DR, Certification in DR, formation of Indian Standards on DR,
validation/inspection, qualification/risk assessment, etc. are
to be taken up as future programmes.

Sri P. Kalyanasundaram informed that a National Seminar on Imaging
2007 will be organized at IGCAR during April 26-28, 2007. Committee
decided to have the next EC meeting of DRWGI at IGCAR, Kalpakkam
during that Seminar.
The minutes is approved by Sri. P Kalyanasunderam, Vice-Chairman.
